The Chiang Mai CAD Khomloy Sky Lantern Festival 2026 is one of the premier, largest, and most organized mass lantern release events in Northern Thailand. Hosted by Chiang Mai Arts and Design (CAD) at the sprawling CAD Cultural Center Lanna (located in the Mae On district), it serves as a massive cultural hub during the annual Yi Peng and Loy Krathong celebrations. The core purpose of the festival is to preserve, showcase, and promote the ancient Lanna (Northern Thai) heritage, transforming traditional rituals into a globally shared, breathtaking spectacle.
